Spiritual Blessings in Christ
Good Morning Joes and Janes;
I have missed several devotionals this week between the Independence Celebrations and lots of work. But I do have a short one for you to close out the week.
Spiritual Blessings in Christ
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love
5 he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will–
6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace
8 that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
Sometimes I focus too much on daily events and not enough on the eternal. When I do that I can become negative, and start complaining. We as Christians have a great blessing and comfort that we live with every day if we choose to focus on it. God loves each of us and shows it in countless ways as he matures us and grows us in a closer walk with him. God adopted us as his children when we were still lost in sin, unlovely and did not care about him. This is a hard love to really understand. How often do we even reach out to the person that is unlovable, or shows a total lack of regard for us? Are we nearly as loving of “those people” as we could be? How would the world around us change if we showed that kind of love?
God has given us his Son, Jesus Christ, that we can have redemption, forgiveness and the riches of God’s grace. He didn’t just give us a little bit, just a taste of, barely enough to get us by. He lavished, gave it in excess!…More than we needed!… and with all wisdom and understanding!
Surely God is Great! It is hard to be negative and complaining when you take all that God has done for us today!

So true!
Some times, we fail to realise the extent of God’s to us, and say thank you Lord!
Thanks for the pingback!

This may be our single duty. Training ourselves to realize the presence of God in each moment. It elicits a twinge of unworthiness, but then thanksgiving and love (the great motivators of a holy, dedicated life). Thanks for the lift…Doug Blair (Waterloo, Ontario)
